Location & Overview

Paje is a charming village located on the southeast coast of Unguja Island, Zanzibar. It lies between the villages of Bwejuu to the north and Jambiani to the south. The village has a population of roughly 5,000 people and has grown from a traditional fishing and seaweed-farming community into one of the island’s most popular tourist destinations.

Paje is known for its stunning white-sand beach, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and its offshore coral reef which keeps the waves calm and perfect for swimming. During low tide, the sea recedes far back, revealing beautiful sandbanks you can walk on. The constant breeze along the coast makes Paje one of the best kite-surfing spots in the world.
